SlotCarAcademy is the web site of slot car collector and racing fan Jan Willem van Capelleveen. The name of his permanent racetrack is Pleasuredome. Jan Willem developed his love and fascination for cars and modeling in the seventies.

Love for motor sport

In the seventies I developed the love for motor sport. I started to collect newspaper cuttings and bought many magazines and slot car books about Formula One racing.

Fleischmann track

During my childhood I played with my Fleischmann track. Together with my friends I have driven uncountable laps with the famous green Lotus 40 and other beautiful models of Fleischmann.

Formula One set of Ninco

Like many people in there thirties the new generation of slot cars made overwhelming impressions on me

Like many other people the new generation of slot cars made overwhelming impressions on me. I couldn't help it; I had to buy the Formula One set of Ninco. Soon followed by a GT box, a lap-counter and a couple of slot cars.

Collecting Ninco models

Nowadays I am collecting the models of Ninco. Besides the slot cars I collect books and magazines about model car racing.
The name of my permanent racetrack is "Pleasuredome", because slot racing is almost the ultimate activity. I own tracks of two brands. As said, I started with the Ninco track, which I still use, but I am also using the Scalextric Sport track.
