Scalextric seems to be very proud about there self clamed success of Scalextric Sport Digital. In there report about the figures of last year they report the following. "The launch of the Scalextric Sport Digital System has been extremely successful. This major advance in technology has been further developed to offer digital control racing across a wider range of price points, thus bringing significantly enhanced play-value into the mass market for slot racing."

Let's go digital!

Major companies in slot racing are making plans for the future. Scalextric, SCX (Spanish Scalextric), Carrera and Ninco have developed a digital racing system. Other companies are also investigating the possibilities of digital racing. Digital racing, will it be a step forward?

The year 2004

The year two thousand and four was highly interesting for slot racers. Many new products were announced and released. This year can be best described as the "Digital Year".
The German Toy Fair in Nuremberg is usually the place for the manufacturers to show their new products. Scalextric introduced two new systems: Scalextric Digital and Sport World. The Digital system has been released at the end of the year but Sport World, the interactive system for (classic, not digital) racing, will be available in the summer of 2005.

Proteus

It seems to be that the Spanish manufacturer Model Slot Proteus is out of business. The website of Proteus (www.slotproteus.es) is out of order and our e-mails are not replied.
A Spanish source of SlotcarAcademy.com reported that the company has a juridical problem with Spanish Scalextric.
