Car that makes the die-cast lovers jealous
Ten years ago nobody could have dreamed that slot cars would have been as detailed as they are today. Fly's Corvette C5-R slot car has a look that makes the die-cast lovers jealous. Of course,
Fly has knowledge of both disciplines.
Replica Corvette
The replica Corvette is looking close to the original. Fly has taken a closer look to the interior of the car than before. Looking through the rear window you see the shock absorbers, the transmission and silver-painted electrical components. The outside features everything you expect from a Fly model.
Noiseless Fly
On the track the Corvette proves to be a noiseless Fly, still very fast, but strikingly quiet. Did Fly do the work that the slot car enthusiasts normally do when they tune a slot car? The out-of-the-box car has a little too much magnetic downforce. In the inner lane of the sharp curves the Corvette bounces around the corner. By tuning a bit (reposition the magnet) you can make this car to a smooth running slot car.
Fantastic looking slot car
What do they think at the Ninco-factory when Fly is bringing another fantastic looking slot car to the world? Will Ninco be intimidated by the detailing?
Scalextric has giving it a try to keep up to the latest developments. For example, take a look at the Cadillac LMP and Opel V8. SCX gives the rally cars the look they deserve including front and rear lights. Ninco is keeping it simple and concentrate the design to the drive-ability of the cars. How long do we have to wait for a very detailed Ninco slot car?
Corvette Test Car
On the pictures the white Corvette Test Car is shown, but this model will be available in all colors you like.
