Two Sisu trucks
The two Sisu trucks that GB Track has released seem to be very popular among slot racers. At my local slot car dealer the trucks were sold out within a day. Truck Racing on the scale can become very popular with these high quality products.
The Sisu trucks compete in the European Truck Racing Cup of the FIA. Igor Konovalov, the driver of the number 29 truck, is from Russia.
Height of 7,5 centimeters
The truck has a height of 7,5 centimeters. At the first lap on my track the truck hit the famous Good Year Bridge of
Scalextric. To avoid a collation you have to position the bridge exactly in the middle.
Powered by a NC2 kind of motor
The truck is powered by a NC2 kind of motor. The motor is positioned in the length of the chassis (Inline rear). You will find the magnet under the rear axle. The guide is loaded with a spring. The spring presses the guide deep in the slot. If you use the truck on a Scalextric track it is advisable to slice a millimeter of the bottom of the guide with a hobby knife.
Downforce
GB Track and
Fly cars are known for their downforce. I think that the magnet is too strong. With the truck on the track you get the feeling to be the engine driver of a train. The handling of the truck can be compared to the Ninco Catalunya Golf. In the corners the truck flips easily on the side. It is possible to put the magnet on a higher position, but the drive-ability does not become better.
Truck Racing
It is to be expected that Truck Racing can become a very popular race category at club races. These trucks of GB Track are a challenge for tuners. The chassis has enough space to balance the car with lead. It is also possible to create front and backlights in the truck.
Slot car collection
I think that at least one Sisu truck of GB Track has to belong to the collection of every slot car enthusiast.
