Ninco Street Race

1/32-scale street race

Ninco offers excellent cars for a 1/32-scale street race. The Citroen Saxo, the BMW M3, the Audi TT and the Volkswagen Golf are ready for action.

The Fast and The Furious

In former days the boys liked to show off with their cars on the boulevards and parking places. These days it is not only important to show your expensive car, but also to beat your friend in a duel, a street race. In the movie "The Fast and The Furious" you see that racing is street theater for a lawless youth subculture. Paul Walker and Vin Diesel are starring in this movie with hot cars, hot women and hot action.
The movie goes with a warning "Please do not try any of these yourself. Be smart. Drive safe. Stay legal." Probably the producer means "Stay at home, go slot racing".

The cars

An NC2 motor powers the Saxo, BMW, Audi and Golf. All the cars have an inline motor position, except for the BMW. This model is the first real racecar of Ninco that got an angle-winder. All models have a spring-loaded guide. This type of guide became standard for Ninco models.
The drivers of the Golf and Audi are wearing helmets. With the release of the BMW and Citroen Saxo Ninco finally concluded, that a driver of a streetcar does not wear a helmet.

Volkswagen Golf

The Volkswagen Golf is the oldest model. This car is a 4-wheel-drive car. The power to the front wheels is accomplished with a rubber band pulley system driven from the rear axle. Not everybody likes the handling of the Golf. This car easily flips over in the corners. It takes some time to get use to the handling of the Golf, but after some practicing you get this car under control.

Audi TT

The Audi is one of the nicest models that arrived on the highways a few years ago. The race version is participating in the German DTM series. The Abt-team won various races with a yellow TT. Abt-Sportsline tuned the street model. The silver color and the tinted glass give this car a spectacular look.

BMW M3

The M3 is the biggest car of the four models in this street race. The silver/black car has a look that you like of dislike. It is a matter of taste, but I think that only pimps are driving in such a car. The back wing is too big for a streetcar. Although the BMW is not the easiest car to drive, it gives full racing performance and satisfaction.

Citroen Saxo

At first sight you might think that the NC2 motor is too powerful for such a small car, but acceleration of the Citroen is really impressive. If you would organize a brake test the Saxo would probably the winner. The blue color of the car is very beautiful. Ninco put the most attractive rims (blue, with silver brake discs) under this car.

The Races

The results on the streets of Pleasuredome are as follows. The BMW was the fastest. The result of the first stint was very disappointing, but after sanding the back tires the M3 became the winner. Although the red Volkswagen was the first in making crashes, it finished in second place. Third was the Citroen Saxo. The Audi TT could not get grip on the Scalextric surface and finished as the last contender.

On the streets of Ninco

On the streets of Ninco the race ended with a different result. The Golf was the fastest car. The easiest car to handle was in this race the Saxo and it became second. The M3 that showed to be the fastest car on the Scalextric Sport track but the car was now a little bit slower than the Audi.

Illegal street race

On a real street you can expect a lot of damage after an illegal street race. On the slot car circuit the damage was restricted to a broken mirror. Nobody got arrested. The slot racers went home safely.
