Proteus Lamborghini

Model Slot Proteus debuted in 2001

The Spanish manufacturer Model Slot Proteus debuted in 2001 with the Heuliez Pregunta. From the introduction of this model maker it was clear: this company releases high quality, perfectly designed models for all slot enthusiasts' collections.

Pregunta

The Heuliez Pregunta showed interesting features. For more information you can check out the Car Notes story about the Pregunta. Two red en two yellow colored models followed the anthracite debut slot car. The special livery got the famous colors of FC Barcelona.

Lamborghini

It took the company almost 18 months to bring the successor of the Pregunta on the market. The Lamborgini Murcielago is also a model with some characteristic details. The chassis and parts look like a part of any other slot car make, but the fairly stiff plastic is perfectly flat and for this reason the ideal basis for a high performance race model. The improved tires give excellent grip. The magnet is strong but allows some sliding.
The flat motor powering system has been changed for cables. The motor, which is fixed to a sub-frame, got an inline position in this model. The rear axle got an unusual combination of a plastic crown wheel and a brass sub-wheel.

Just like the real thing

The bodies of the replicas of Proteus show the exact dimensions of the real cars. The bodywork of the models looks extremely realistic. The first version of the Pregunta was a real show model, which did not need a driver figure. The other race models have a full driver figure sitting in the interior.

High level of model making

Proteus will hopefully be able to continue the high level of model making.
