Scalextric Sport Ford Mustang

New sport ethos of Scalextric

The new sport ethos of Scalextric is a gift for the serious racer. The new Formula-1 models are the best detailed of its kind and the Ford Mustang is bringing old memories alive.

Demand for better slot cars

The demand for better slot cars with improved handling and superb detail has increased according to the designers of Scalextric. For this reason Scalextric designed a new track system and slot cars. To celebrate the introduction Scalextric produces very detailed models as limited editions. The limited edition cars have special Sport specifications. The improved axles and brass bearings give the slot cars better performance. The Limited Edition cars are also sold in standard versions. Conversion kits are available to modify the standard models.

Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro

The Mustang and the Chevrolet Camaro are very interesting models for the slot racer who was a teenager at the end of the seventies. Scalextric made a perfect choice to bring these American Classics to the 1/32 scale racetrack. The Ford Mustang Boss 302 that is released before the Camaro is a perfect scale copy of the original. Only the sound of the engine already gives away the feeling of being at a TransAm race. The Scalextric model zooms by lap after lap on the track. The handling of the Mustang ("The Original Pony Car") is one of the best you can find. It is possible to change the position of the magnet. The adjustable bar magnet type can be positioned at three places on the chassis. An optional button magnet can be placed in the front of the car. The brand of your track demands the ideal position of the magnet.

Parnelli Jones

The number 15 Mustang Boss 302 was driven by Parnelli Jones. In 1969 Parnelli Jones won a few races. Jones dominated TransAm in 1970 and won the championship over Mark Donohue (in that year driver of an AMC Javelin). In 1969 Mark Donohue was steering the Chevrolet Camaro number 6.

Scalextric made an excellent choice

Scalextric made an excellent choice to release vintage cars that were participants of the TransAm race series. The models are perfectly printed and detailed. Scalextric is definitely moving up to Fly in detail and print with the new Sport models.
