City RacingSlot Racing in the streets
Racing in the streets is getting more popular every day. More and more Formula One races are organized in the streets. In 2008 they race beside Monaco also in Singapore and Valencia. Also special motor sport events are brought to the streets of Moscow, Rotterdam and Kiev. It is a small step from real racing to slot car racing. I decided to follow the trend and build a track inspired by a virtual city. The track is named City Racing.City Racing Project FilmCarrera track buildingsTo get an urban view you need buildings. The buildings of Carrera will be upgraded to luxurious apartment buildings. The pit boxes become garages for the rich and famous. The first buildings have been placed, others (hand made) will follow. The buildings will be fully decorated and lights will added to the track as well.Borders and fencesPit walls and fences enclose the Ninco track. These walls look like the pit walls in Valencia. The borders have been painted black, except the red and white parts at the inner sides of the corners.Digital racingDigital slot racing can cause a 'marshal problem'. This track is created in such a way that four racers can be around the track and put the cars back on track by themselves. In the middle of table there is a place where the cars are put after a crash. It is a kind of 'penalty drop zone' as you find on golf courses.City Racing In ActionCity Racing in detail
