Ninco Safety car

Special slot car for your collection

If you have a lot of fast slot cars, you probably want something different. Ninco gives you the opportunity to add a special car to your collection. The safety car is the first model of Ninco that is executed with working lights.

Safety procedure

As in DTM and Formula-1 races the safety car comes on the track after an accident if there is a dangerous situation. The race continues but the drivers are slowed down and have to follow the car of the officials. No overtaking is allowed as long as the lights of the car are flashing. The race may be continued when the flashing lights are going off and the safety car returns to the pit.
It is a pity that the track does not have an extra slot to simulate the safety procedure on your racetrack. The car will get a prominent place at the entrance of the pit-lane.

The lights

The Mercedes-Benz CLK DTM safety car is beautiful. The Ninco model is known from previous versions. The glass of the cockpit is tinted. The yellow and green alarm lights are solidly fixed on the top of the car. The alarm lights are flashing together with the front lights if you push the trottle. The model of Ninco is a good copy of the original, but the back-wing should not be there.

Opening the model

I could not resist opening the model. After running just one lap with the brand new car I had to open it. The body is fixed to the chassis with three screws. The circuit board for the lightning is fixed under the hood. On the pictures you can see that Ninco did an excellent job.

Technique of a Ninco slot car

The technique of a Ninco model car is well known. The Mercedes has an inline configuration, an NC2 motor, a half-sized cockpit, perfect tampo printing, excellent tires of the softer compound, a spring-loaded guide and a strong magnet.

Future

I wish that Ninco would release more models with working lights. It should be wonderful if you can get (Le Mans) cars with a switch. When darkness comes you must be able to put on the lights, because night racing is great fun.
