SCX Dome Judd S 101

Racing for Holland

The Dome Judd S 101 for Racing for Holland (Le Mans 2002) by SCX is one of the most spectacular printed (slot) car ever. The black and white car got a lot of attention at Le Mans and is an eye-catcher on your track.

Dome

Dome is Japanese for "a childhood dream". The company makes road and racing cars since 1975. Dome has built its own Formula-One car as well as Le Mans and GT cars for clients such as Toyota and Honda.

New concept

Hundreds of companies sponsor the team of Racing for Holland. All companies put their own logos on the checkered Dome. The Dutch Company Trim-Line Automotive Design is responsible for the printing. SCX has done a great job to reproduce the design on the 1/32-scale model.

Jan Lammers

The Dutch driver Jan Lammers is the initiator of Racing for Holland. Jan Lammers is active in the motor sport since 1973. More than thirty years of driving in almost every major series including Formula-One (Shadow, Ensign, ATS, March and Theodore), Indy cars, F2, F3000, F3, sport cars, GT cars and touring cars. Jan Lammers has won the 24-hour races of Le Mans and Daytona.

Racing for Holland in 2002

Racing for Holland is the winner of the FIA Sport car Championship in 2002. Jan Lammers and the young driver Val Hillebrand scored 97 points in the drivers' championship after winning the races in Brno, Magny-Cours and Dijon. Lammers, Hillebrand and Coronel finished as number eight at Le Mans. At the last two races of the season the team was sponsored by Sotoalto and got for that reason a new livery (the colors black and silver). Beppe Gabbiani and Felipe Ortiz participated in the last two races of the season in the second car.
The team published a yearbook ("2002 FIA World Sports car Champions - Racing for Holland Yearbook"). The book may not be offered for sale because it has been a personal gift to all the relations of the team.

The model

The SCX Dome Judd is a pretty good slot car. The handling of the car is smooth. The sub-chassis absorbs the vibrations of the rear axle and allows the body to lean while cornering. The magnet is easy to remove but gives the magnetic power that most racers need.
The motor is very quick and breaks excellent. The Xenon lights at the front and back are bright enough to light up your Le Mans series at home.
