Hummer

Hummer H1: you hate it or love it

The Hummer H1: you hate it or love it. Cursa Models has manufactured this highly interesting model. We have tested the model and draw our conclusions.

Cursa Models

Juanjo Maja founds Cursa Models. This Spanish designer is well known in the world of slot car racing. Moya founded Mini Replicas is 1993 and created many static models of carbon fiber.
The Renault Alpine and the Jeepster were the first models of Cursa Models. The company creates models in the scales 1/32 and 1/24.

The model

The Hummer does not need any introduction because everybody knows the background of this particular car. The model of Cursa Models is presented in a box of carbon. The reference number is K-32003 and the scale of the replica is 1/32. The length of the car is 14.7 centimeter and the width is 7 centimeter. The height of this Hummer is about 6 centimeter.
The models of Cursa Models and handmade and usually it is shown in the excellent quality. Unfortunately this is not the case with this model. The finish is poorly and Cursa Models did not detail the car. The car got decals that loosened at our test-model.

Chassis

The chassis is fixed with four screws to the body. The car is equipped with two motors of the company Pink-kar and the Proshock suspension system of Ninco. The arm of the guide has a length of 7 centimeters. The car does not have a magnet.

Track performance

It is obvious after just one lap that the model is too heavy. Two motors in one car are too much, but the Hummer is very powerful. All obstacles that are put one the Ninco Raid test track were taken without any problems, but the car cannot compete with the Raid cars of Ninco. The standard Hummer is the slowest car that we have tested this year.
We have removed the front motor to seek for a better performance. The car is handling better with only the inline motor at the back, but due to the lack of power of the Pink-kar motor, we were not very excited about the Hummer.
The race fun started when the original motor was replaced by the NC5! This big model needs a powerful motor. The NC5, 6 or 7 are perfect for this slot car.

Conclusion

The Hummer is excellent stuff for model carmakers, but people who do not like to make adjustments to models should not buy this car. Basically we conclude that it is pity that this car is not made by Ninco or another big slot car brand. If the car was created in the Raid-line we could have had instant fun with the Hummer.
