Landscaping a model racetrack

Landscaping a model racetrack Landscaping a model racetrack is bringing the race atmosphere to your home.
For inspiration you can check out the looks of your local racetrack. Scenery is a matter of taste. Several manufacturers offered racetrack buildings.

Corgi, Herpa and Aurora

Corgi and Herpa were manufacturers that produced wonderful pits and press boxes. Also Marx and Bachmann offered a full line of accessories (figures, bridges and guardrails).
Aurora sold beautiful Model Motoring structure kits to cheer up the raceway. Aurora offered the following kits in 1963: judges stand, pit stop station, grandstand, HO-gas station and bleachers.

Grandstands and other buildings

Carrera sold grandstands and other buildings in the eighties and re-introduced them in 2004. If you are lucky you can find old plastic buildings at flee-markets or Internet. Scalextric is offering for more than thirty years beautiful, charismatic racetrack buildings.
Scalextric made these scale models based on the real buildings at the famous English circuit Goodwood. Scalextric has also used pictures of the Goodwood circuit in the old brochures.

Scalextric cardboard buildings

The modern cardboard buildings and stands of Scalextric can give your track a modern look. Other companies, as SCX and SRA, offer modern racetrack products.
