NSR Renault Clio

NSR and scaling

The second model of NSR is the Renault Clio. This slot car is very fast. For some even too fast to handle on a home track.
Noviello Slot Racing is an Italian slot car brand that offers high-end slot cars. The Mosler was the first model by NSR. The scaling was not done carefully as the car looks different from the replica of Ninco. The scale of the Renault Clio has been wrong again. It is said that NSR measured the width of the car mistakenly by including the mirrors. For that reason the model is far too big for being a 1/32-scale slot car.

NSR: made in Italy

A certificate is included in the box. It is certifies that the model is hand made and assembled in Italy. The lightweight body shows a reasonable level of detail. If you remember the 'Tupperware' boxes you know what kind of material is used for the chassis. The body is attached to the chassis by two screws at the front. At the back you have to put the spacer in place to close the slot car. All parts can be describes as 'Slot.it quality'. There are two places on the chassis for the magnet: in front of the motor and in the middle of the chassis.

Track performance

Home racers do need a different type of motor for this car. At this moment NSR assembled only very fast motors (22 or 25 motors) in the Renault Clio. The Shark 20 motor is a better choice. If you are able to break the horsepower you will enjoy this (expensive) model.
The club racers will love the performance of this Renault Clio. The slot car handles at its best on a flat racetrack (Carrera, Scalextric Sport, or wood).
