Scalextric Sport Lap Counter / TimerRacing is giving more fun if your laps are counted
Racing is giving more fun if your laps are counted. It is nice to know that you are faster than your competitor. Scalextric Sport offers a basic inexpensive lap counter/timer. Up to 999 laps can be counted. The best lap will be timed to the nearest tenth of a second. The counter is packed in a yellow cardboard box. The unit is fixed on a half straight section. Another half-straight section is included. Two type AA 1.5-volt alkaline batteries power the counter. The batteries are not included with the set. There is no switch but the lap counter will switch itself off to safe battery power after three minutes of inactivity. CompatibleThe Sport lap counter/timer is fully compatible with both Sport and Classic versions of Scalextric track. The two half-straight sections have connections for the new and old style track. Assemble the converter half-straight track section to the side that leaves the correct style of track connection for your layout.Race information
The Sport style unit shows three blue buttons, a LED display and a speaker. The outside numbered blue buttons apply to the numbered track lanes. The center blue button will reset the display. To operate the counter is easy. Press each track lane button to set the number of laps. The display shows the number of laps that is chosen. No signal is given for the start. The unit starts to count as soon as the car is driven across the checkered line. Laps begin counting down after the first completed lap. During the race the display will show the remaining laps. Each line produces a different beep tone for identification. A double beep and the lap will signal the fastest lap time. For each car time is showed at the display for a few seconds. The end of the race is signaled by a continuous beep pattern. A checkered flag is shown in the display at the lane of the winner. The sounds of Ninco's lap counterSome racers say that the sounds of Ninco's lap counter are annoying, but the Pole Position melodies are symphonies compared to the finish signal of the Sport unit. For more accurate timing the serious racer will probably choose for RMS (Race Management System) or a timing device of an other brand.
